As befitting that it is All Hallow’s Eve, it seems only fitting to let you know that the Ivoryton Playhouse was recently visited by the Connecticut Ghost Hunters (CGH) for some paranormal investigation.
Kelly Schreier, Communications Director CGH, witnessed a full body apparition of a woman crossing into the foyer but because they were still setting up equipment it was not caught on tape.
Here is a piece from the Neighborhood Journal they did on the CGH
It was the audio evidence in which they were most impressed. as reported by Schreier as reported to me in an email.
“One of the recordings we caught was in the Kitchen at our command center where all the equipment is housed. After all of the investigators left the area, you hear a voice clearly state the name “Patrick” into a recorder. There is no one in the room.
Afterwards in a dressing room located off of the same hallway, there was a recording caught where our investigators are having an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session in which they ask questions and wait for a response. Two of our investigators Laura and Lois got a response via object manipulation. To put that more simply- they asked the spirit to respond by hitting a nearby chair. The chair was hit more than once when they asked for a response.
Another of our investigators, Cord was in the theatre in the seats and he asked the spirit if it would like to give a performance. There is a clear and concise “No” in response. There was no explanation for that voice either.
Yet another instance took place in the Balcony of the theatre. Kelsey, who you may know as both an employee of the theatre and a member of our group asked if the spirit was a friend of David B.’s. There was another unexplained response to that saying ‘Yes’.”
The Connecticut Ghost Hunters hope to return again for more paranormal investigations because they were so impressed they hope to return at a later date.
